The Legacy

Why Code Talkers?

During the World Wars, Indigenous service members from more than a dozen nations — Diné (Navajo), Comanche, Choctaw, Cree, Cherokee, Mi'kmaq, and others — used their languages as unbreakable battlefield codes. Their fluency in tongues the colonizer had tried to erase became the very thing that protected their nations and their allies.

We carry that name with permission, with humility, and with intention. Today, our Code Talkers are Indigenous youth fluent in a new language — the code that runs the systems of modern life. We exist to make sure that fluency is taught, valued, and compensated, and that the next generation of Indigenous coders builds the future on their own terms.

The Platform

How Code Talkers works

A three-stage pathway designed in partnership with Indigenous communities — from first line of code to a thriving career in technology.

01

Learn & Develop

Indigenous youth learn coding through hands-on projects on our simplified RAD platform — modern, cloud-based, and built for accessibility from day one.

02

Real Projects

Students work on actual business applications — forms, workflows, and data systems for real clients. The work matters. The impact is measured.

03

Career Pathways

Move from volunteer experience to paid internships to full-time technology careers — at home in your community or wherever the journey leads.

Multi-Language Development

Code in your preferred language

Whether your strengths lean toward Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript — write business logic in the language that fits the work and the team. Our sandbox environment makes learning safe and accessible.

  • Full sandbox environment — write, test, and iterate without breaking production
  • Visual form designer paired with real code for serious business logic
  • Cloud-native deployment — your code runs the moment it's written
  • AI-assisted mentorship and code review built into the platform

    if applicant.is_eligible():
        notify("team@bridge.org")
        return {"status": "approved"}
    return {"status": "review"}
JavaScript
// Connect form to client database
const syncRecord = async (data) => {
  const result = await bridge.save(data);

I went from sketching wireframes on notebook paper to shipping production code for a Fortune 500 client — without ever leaving my territory. The platform met me where I was and walked with me to where I wanted to go.
